As an only child, I grew up crafty. Boredom never lasted long! I created my best friend a magazine and as I grew, I couldn't wait to fulfil my destiny to become editor of my high school's yearbook! I had a plan and followed through by attending Kwantlen College for graphic design from 2001 through 2004.
I was fortunate to intern at an advertising agency – Thornley Hayne Creative Communications. It was a great fit for all and over the years, I eventually took my position as Art Director. I enjoyed nearly a decade there, getting a taste of all aspects of the business. I was able to design some pretty incredible brands such as the city's
logo which won
through vote by
council and then
by the public.
I launched Gett Creative in BC's lower mainland back in 2009 with a baby on my hip and the rule
I set for myself to say "YES" when opportunity knocked. That M.O. quickly led to accepting a gig hosting a branding panel in Montreal, presenting to students at UBC, and participating in a Vancouver Women's Show. I was all in and determined to grow! I met some of my very first clients including a prominent wedding and event planner in Whistler, BC, creating logos and brands for weddings - an avant-garde concept at the time. I also became the designer for Western Canadian fashion retailer, Below The Belt, among others.

There’s something irresistible about the way they
tell a juicy story with glossy, eye-catching visuals.
I was in a new place and I decided to make it my own the best way I knew how.
I launched my first Magazine: McMurray Girl. It was a break-out hit! The women of this growing community embraced this platform where they finally felt seen and represented. The brand expanded into a social club, networking group, and two charity galas during it's five fabulous years. I represented the brand in a number of ways including TV & radio appearances. I wrote articles and conducted shoots – it was through this period that I spread my wings, becoming more than a
'graphic designer'. I found my identity in using my expertise to shine a spotlight on deserving women. Make that a fruitful career? For me, there's nothing better!

The onset of social media and 'the influencer' completely
changes the game...
When life brought about change for me,
I found myself embarking on my next project – only this time it was so much more than before. It was a complete multi-media movement where magazine stories came to life from off of the pages utilizing social media and video with Instagram, YouTube, and eventually Podcasting.
It was a whole new era in a much bigger city...
Between 2014 and 2016 we really felt the Earth shift as social media and video content took it's hold.

2016 - 2021
I Like Her Style Vancouver's launch event was an
influencer-studded affair hosted at one of Vancouver's
hottest restaurants, "Coast" by Glowbal Group. It quickly
became a celebrated, multi-media movement with a glossy
print magazine, social media, video, e-mail marketing, and
eventually a Podcast. It was a brand that came to life through
a number of events and worked with inspirational women,
female-led businesses, and repeat contributors, including
the incomparable Jillian Harris!

when Jody became a first time mom and decided to
step away at the end of 2019. Shortly thereafter, the pandemic brought it's sweeping challenges to
the world.

return my focus to client

come my way.

I’m a champion for the everyday covergirl. Women like me who live their truth. So when we returned to BC's Lower Mainland in 2015 after the birth
of my second daughter, it didn't take me long to sink my teeth into my next project. This time, I wasn't alone – I had the partnership of my dear friend Jody Belanger who brought her fashion industry and business expertise to the table.
Since 2009, Gett Creative Inc. has brought brands to life through thoughtful design and compelling content — from logos and websites to publications, social media, and video.

Nearly 5 years later, life has led me to my
next chapter in Ontario. I live with my husband and youngest daughter in a beautiful, historic, countryside town in Norfolk County. I like to say that I have BC roots and Ontario blooms!
